Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the PTI government has firm belief in democracy and is determined to strengthen democracy as well as democratic institutions. "In the name of democracy, plundering is deception and oppression with the people while the former rulers caused harm to democracy and as a result, the people lost their faith in democracy," the CM said in his message on the eve of "International Day of Democracy."

The CM maintained that democracy is the name of the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law; in fact, democracy is the system of public welfare in which all the decisions are taken in the parliament instead of roads. He said that the PTI has always struggled for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions.

Slamming the undemocratic steps in occupied Kashmir of so-called champion of democracy - India, he said that India has deprived the people of Kashmir from their democratic right. The global democratic forces should take immediate notice of India's undemocratic actions in Kashmir. Moreover, taking another initiative of public interest, the Punjab CM has decided to open Punjab House Murree and Governor Annexe (Forest Rest House Bhurban) for the public from September 16.

People can stay at Punjab House Murree and Governor Annexe (Forest Rest House Bhurban) after payment of rent. It is worth mentioning that Government House Murree was opened for the public some time ago, which led to generating revenue of more than Rs1 million per month. The Punjab government has already opened 177 rest/guest houses of different departments for the general public. Converting state buildings into rest/guest houses for the public is a step towards eliminating VIP culture.
